Alexandria Performing Arts Association

The Alexandria Performing Arts Association (APAA) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization. It is one of Alexandria’s oldest arts organizations (founded in 1968). Our primary purpose is simple. We exist to: Host the Arts in Alexandria.

Our mission:
  • Offer high-quality, affordable performance events in Alexandria;
  • Create performance opportunities for aspiring artists and arts organizations
  • Encourage culturally diverse programs for underserved audiences;
  • Provide organizational/fiscal support to start-up art groups.
APAA current activities include:
  • The Guest Artist Performance Series providing high-quality performance events with emphasis on local talent and diversity of offerings.
  • Arts Educational Events. At present a competition is sponsored in music for students in middle and high school.
  • Encouragement to Arts Organizations. APAA is currently offering support to:
    • Enchanted Strings, a unique multi-cultured ensemble offering original music and dance.
    • Beneath the Veil. A theatre troupe with a message.
    • BosmaDance a dance troupe dedicated to the promotion of contemporary dance as a powerful form of communication and expression;
