The Athenaeum /
Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association

The Athenaeum is a Greek revival building built in 1851, it was home to the Bank of the Old Dominion, where Robert E. Lee did his banking. Today it is an art gallery and home of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association, located in the heart of Old Town at the top of Captain’s Row.

The programs of the NVFAA include art exhibitions and performances in the Gallery. The Athenaeum is available to rent for special events and is a lovely venue for weddings, receptions and meetings.
